The start of something different

The Move

So in November Narell and myself made the move across the ocean to land in Los Angeles and make this place our home.  I was very fortunate to land a job with Magnopus a company making some awesome VR experiences such as Mission ISS, Bladerunner 2049 and CocoVR.  As part of this move, I get to work with an amazing team, who have welcomed me into the fold.  Living in Downtown LA (DTLA) has made our lives so much easier, with access to some great food, general stores and the ability to walk to work.

The Blog

This blog is really here for me to write about experiences in LA, things I learn, share cool pictures or things that my wife and I do around town, and a lot of coding progress or lack of for my spare time projects.  Essentially my projects that I highlight here will be in their infancy and proof of concept stages, as they progress beyond that they will either move to their own development blog, or on the general blog at http://savagecabbage.com

The Goal

I have set myself a goal of writing on this blog at least once a week with spending no more than an hour formulating my thoughts, sometimes there may be very little to report, other times may have been a flat out week where so much happened.  A friend of mine has pointed out that I will probably post 2 or three updates, then stop, and then come back a year from now and go “wow it’s been a while I will try to do better.” And history would show that he’d be right in that summation.  But that is history and with all the other changes in our lives, improving my blogging is an area I intend to change.
